About Dr Fran Finn
With more than 30 years’ experience across leadership, executive coaching, human resources and adult learning, and a PhD examining the impact of executive coaching on leadership development, Dr Fran Finn brings a rare combination of research, executive education and practical experience to developing senior leaders, leadership teams and organisations.
Fran has held senior leadership roles in executive education, including Director, Leadership Coaching and Executive Programs at the QUT Graduate School of Business and QUTeX Executive Education. She established QUTeX’s Leadership Coaching Practice, led the development of senior leadership coaches across Australia, coordinated the Executive Graduate Certificate in Business (Leadership Coaching), and partnered with organisations across a broad range of industries to design and facilitate leadership development programs.
Fran’s approach bridges research and practice. She was awarded a PhD for her research, Leadership Development Through Executive Coaching: The Effects on Leaders’ Psychological States and Transformational Leadership Behaviour, and has spent more than two decades applying those insights through executive coaching, leadership development and executive education. Her work supports leaders to think clearly, strengthen self-awareness, build confidence and communicate with greater impact, enabling healthy, sustainable leadership. Her research has been presented nationally and internationally, and she is regularly invited to contribute to professional and industry conversations on coaching and leadership.
Fran is recognised as a Fellow of the Association for Coaching, acknowledging her longstanding contribution to the coaching profession. She also serves on the Association for Coaching Queensland Leadership Team, supporting the ongoing development and professionalism of coaching.
Alongside her work in leadership development, Fran has extensive experience as an investor, managing residential and commercial property developments, securities and digital assets. This commercial perspective complements her coaching practice and provides a practical understanding of the strategic, financial and organisational realities faced by senior leaders.
